K, I know a lot of people think "the house or senate will never pass the gay marriage amendment" but just so you know... Million for Marriage sent out an alert today that basically warns that that's exactly what the amendment's proponents are hoping you're thinking, and that's why they're waiting until the week before the FMA comes up for a vote before they launch a multi-million dollar ad campaign in support of the amendment.
So if it wouldn't KILL you to call your congresspeople (get their contact info at votesmart.org) and just let them know you oppose the amendment, please do, OK? Remember, if it gets out of Congress, it goes to the states and 38 states would need to ratify it... and 38 states already have anti-gay-marriage laws. So that ratification COULD happen. It's very important that it not get past Congress, and for that to happen it's important that you, personally, insist to your congresspeople that it doesn't.
