A gun just totally touched my car!

Someone died out front this morning. I don't know the details... i know there are cars involved but no accident, i know i didn't hear any gunshots, and i know my car is right now stuck in some sort of crime scene limbo and I'm not going to be allowed to drive it anytime soon, doesn't look like.

There's yellow tape all over and people and helicopters and many cop cars but the icing is really that a bunch of suits just came in, detectivey suit guys with the suspenders and guns and shit! And they're totally standing next to my car talking about dead people and there! One of them just kind of nudged my car with his gun! My car has totally been touched by a gun! That makes it kind of turbo somehow, doesn't it? Dangerous? Less innocent? I don't know.

I guess it's a little callous to be all "whee!" when there's a full on dead guy involved, but I think I got past that somber, respectful point after the first hour and a half of staring out the window.

One of the detectives is kind of hot in a half-asiany kind of way. He just caught me staring at him and made eye contact with me and it was like.. scary. It's scary to make eye contact with a detective. Like what if he thinks i did it?

Man do I wish i had a digital camera now.

But I bought a laptop yesterday. Which is considerably more expensive than a digital camera; i'm not sure why i thought that was OK but no, actually I do know why i thought it was OK: A laptop will go further towards securing my sanity than a digital camera will. Because with a laptop, I will be able to take my working ass elsewhere and work near other people. Also it will warm my thighs. And also it will not eat my work the way this crappy emachine seems to be threatening to do lately.

PS I love my job so much. Do you love your job? I love mine.

UPDATE: Did you know that cops eat lunch too? Like even if they're not at the station in the cafeteria or at the McDonald's, like they have a pack lunch with them in the car sometimes and when they're stuck outside your building for several hours figuring out a Dead Guy situation, that they will bust out the little blue cooler bag with the sandwich and soda and chips and eat it on the hood of their turbo police vehicle that transports perps on a regular? Like even though they are totally strapped with powerful firearms and spent the morning puzzling over someone's final moments, they need a little yummy in their tummy too, just like you and me? It's somehow so quaint. GOD i wish i had a digital camera.
