Thank God We're Hot Chicks with Superpowers. It's Comforting.*

Things that hurt my feelings:

1) When Mars gets migraines. I think it hurts her feelings more than mine, but mine hurt too.
2) When people run over two cats that are best friends but one of them doesn't die and so she tries to drag her injured lower half across the street to her dead friend and she's in so much pain she can't even make a noise but her jaw is just wide open and she's panting and in shock and there's nothing you can do to make it never have happened or make people not drive really fast and kill cats, nor for that matter can you make the bird with the broken wing in winged migration not get eaten by the scary, clicky crabs. Those crabs hurt my feelings so much. I hate those fuckin' crabs.
3) Boys who were supposed to be nice.
4) When the nunchakus hit my elbows.
5) Colds.
6) That darn president.
7) The Spurs.
8) Ted Leo losing his voice.
9) Phydeaux died.
10) Anyone, anywhere who makes fun of that kid who taped himself doing the Darth Maul staff moves. You can't do that, it's not nice. I love him, and you're hurting our feelings.

Things that don't hurt my feelings:

1) Mars.
2) When Spike held Buffy all night long and busted out the top-of-the-head kiss.
3) El Matador.
4) Learning how to jump.
5) Phydeaux used to be there at the foot of Mars' stairs when we would come home from school and he was gray and small.
6) The Chens.
7) The somehow soothing knowledge that even now, even 12 or 13 years later, Bill Ferrell still wears Patchouli.
8) Ben Ten Fingers came to town and I danced and danced and danced.
9) The way Iodine progressively kisses me awake in the morning and it's almost like her timing is based on the golden mean, like those zen alarm clocks.
10) I looked through an old box of pictures and found this one of a girl whose name, sweartogod, is Rose. And this one, that always makes me smile. And this. It's comforting. For my feelings.

*I just made a line from Buffy the Vampire Slayer my title. Have I now jumped the shark? Take my TiVo... please.
